After 20 years in the high-pressure world of Journalism and PR, Vera traded deadlines for the rhythmic spin of a pottery wheel to recover from burnout. Today, Veradee Designs is her creative second act, where she crafts "little pieces of art" designed for the slow rituals of everyday life.

Veradee Design’s work is defined by a signature palette of Illawarra-inspired pastels—soft blues, mint greens, and gentle lavenders and peach. There is a science behind these choices:

Parasympathetic Activation: Low-saturation pastel hues are proven to decrease sensory input and lower cortisol levels by up to 18%.

Soft Fascination: These "quiet" colours provide the eye a place to rest, triggering the brain's parasympathetic nervous system to signal safety and rest.

Cognitive Restoration: Studies show that cool, muted tones like mint and sky blue help restore mental energy and improve focus by reducing visual "noise". 

Every piece is locally handmade in Bulli on the NSW South Coast (Dharawal Country) using Australian clay and finished with hand-brushed, food-safe glazes.
